Kilgetty 3.
Monkton Swifts 3.
Kilgetty couldn’t believe they didn’t win this clash against one of the title favourites Monkton Swifts.
The match ended in high drama with the hosts leading 3-1 when Swifts substitute Ashley Prior collapsed in a heap with a suspected broken ankle.
After a lengthy delay Benno Jones’ Swifts had to battle on with just ten men after using all their substitutes and facing a two-goal deficit.
With minutes remaining Daniel Hart pulled one back, and virtually on the stroke of full-time Ben Goldsmith bagged an extremely timely equaliser, to steal a point for a mighty relieved Swifts camp.
In the first period Ben Jones gave the visitors an 18th minute lead before Kilgetty striker Nick Cope squared matters in the 35th minute.
Nick Cope struck shortly after the break to give his side the lead and his cousin Dan came off the bench to extend the margin.
With victory in sight Kilgetty manager Andrew Cope was gearing himself up for a famous win, but against the odds, the high-flying Swifts dramatically clawed their way back to snatch a point when all three really did look lost.
